ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Working in the corporate world for several years set the stage for my second, but long-desired career as an artist. While my creativity and expressionism may have been appreciated in the business setting, the satisfaction does not compare to the appreciation I receive from myself and my patrons of art.
My art has allowed me to share the visions I’ve always had, in a wonderfully different way. Whether seeking ideas, traveling, or simply doing everyday activities, I am always inspired to paint my surroundings; my initial reaction is to wonder what it will look like on my watercolor papers. When I examine potential subjects I see values, intensity of lights and darks, bold hues & composition; then I begin looking at hidden colors, secret rhythms and patterns, and the metaphysical aspects of an image. I begin interpreting, composing and experimenting with the sensual expressions of what will eventually emerge on my painting.
